The Orioles today announced that they have recalled outfielder Dariel Álvarez from Triple-A Norfolk and placed outfielder Joey Rickard on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to July 21) with a right thumb ligament injury. Álvarez, 27, batted .280/.315/.382 (104-for-372) with 26 doubles, four home runs, 34 runs scored and 40 RBIs over 93 games this season with Triple-A Norfolk.
